DIY: Amazing MCM Ceiling Medallion

Sometimes a DIY project comes across your way that makes you weak in the knees and want to run to the nearest home supply store to make it yourself. This DIY Starburst Ceiling Medallion is so clever/brilliant/fun/flexible–we’re practically running to Home Depot right now. The medallion below was spotted in a photograph of a Scandinavian house by the lovely blogger behind The Vintage Cabin, but extensive searching proved that it was impossible to find. This DIY project was born.

There looks to be a lot of math, some measuring, some scoring, some cutting, some gluing and more for this project–but this totally looks doable. And it’s an amazing way to add a hint of character and interest to your space in a really modern, really personal way. I mean, you’d basically be adding an architectural detail to your home that you could love for years and years. It’s all in the details, people. Please visit The Vintage Cabin forthis amazing project–she’s got tons of photos and amazing instructions to help you out.

What do you think about this project?!? Would you try it yourself? Would you make it as is or customize for your home? Let us know!
